Overview
Memento was Mike’s 2020 aluminum yo-yo release. Mike named it after memento mori, the Stoic reminder of mortality. It is one of the best-documented yo-yos in the archive, with recovered specs and production notes.

Release notes
The first release came in red, blue, and gray, with gray selling out quickly. A larger second run followed in 2020 with six colors: pink, purple, gray, orange, olive branch, and clear. The second run reduced the gap by 0.2mm and was scheduled for July 3, 2020 at 3pm Mountain.
Story notes
A March 2020 journal note says Mike decided on the name Memento after Memento Mori from the Stoics. He also noted that the laser engraving looked amazing and that the yo-yo used a 12mm axle instead of the 14mm he expected.
